The first Hamburg Sustainability Conference (HSC) took place in Hamburg on 7 and 8 October. The conference brought together representatives from politics, science, business, civil society, and international organisations to develop solutions for the challenges of our time.
Around 160 participants from 102 countries discussed a wide range of issues in more than 60 sessions – from sustainable hydrogen supply chains for global shipping, to fair sourcing of raw materials for battery production, and an international financial architecture that is equitable for all.
Representatives of the GFA Group also attended the conference – for bilateral exchanges with experts and decision-makers, and through a "solution pitch" in the official conference programme, delivered by a colleague from HEAT.
In this special newsletter, we also report on examples from GFA Consulting Group’s departments and projects that address core themes of the conference – such as sustainable urban development, public finance management, and our commitment to the SPAR6C initiative. This initiative supports selected countries in establishing partnerships and frameworks for their individual climate goals. In addition, GFA Consulting Group’s Sustainability Manager discusses how sustainability is reflected within GFA – and the opportunities and challenges she perceives.
