The project aims to promote women’s employment and economic empowerment in Kenya’s waste management and circular economy sectors. Co-funded by the IKEA Foundation under the WE4D programme, it focuses on strengthening micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), especially those led by women, through capacity building, gender-responsive training, improved access to markets and equipment, and the adoption of circular business models. By enhancing business capacity and integrating MSMEs into sustainable waste value chains, the project seeks to create decent, inclusive green jobs while advancing gender equality and environmental sustainability.
