Consultant in our Public Finance Management (PFM) Department with English and French proficiency working from our West African Hub in Dakar, Senegal
The PFM Department has currently 20 staff in the HQ. The Department offers consultancy services related to transparent financial and fund management. These services include

The position works closely on a day-to-day basis with the Public Finance Management Department and reports to both, the Director Public Finance at HQ and the Hub Manager in Dakar/Senegal.
Your tasks
- Management of Public Finance international projects and studies (administrative and financial backstopping and monitoring of projects and studies, mainly in French-speaking African countries
- Networking with donor agencies, beneficiaries, partner companies or institutions, sub-contrac-tors and experts
- Support to (pre-)acquisition of new projects, including elaboration and coordination of technical and financial proposals in the field of public finance management.
- Elaboration of reports, financial tools, concepts and presentations and contribution to knowledge and quality management
- Expert and contract management
- Representing GFA’s Public Finance Department in Senegal and West Africa in conferences and seminars
Your profile
- University degree (MA) in business administration, economics, development studies. A focus on finance, accounting and/ or controlling would be highly desirable
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in project management, preferably in the context of development cooperation
- Full proficiency in written and spoken English and French is a prerequisite
- Working experience with responsibility related to finance, accounting, procurement or audit would be a strong asset
- Familiarity with Bilateral/Multilateral donors and international financial institutions policies and procedures
- Familiarity with The Global Fund, Millennium Challenge Corporation or Gavi strategies and policies would be a strong asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office package including Excel
- Willingness to travel within West Africa
- Strong writing, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage complex situations under tight schedules
