On 9 October, GFA’s head office in Hamburg-Volksdorf once again welcomed a high-profile political visitor: Dr Andreas Dressel, Senator for Finance of the Hanseatic City, brought himself up to date on the company’s work.
Among the topics discussed during his one-hour meeting with Dr Ilona Schadl, Anja Desai and Christian Dürr from GFA’s management board, were the current changes in international cooperation and how a consultancy firm can respond to them strategically.
Dressel, who has heads the Finance Department in the Hamburg Senate since 2018, showed particular interest in GFA’s on-the-ground presence, with the company represented worldwide through its branches and newly established hubs.
“As a major international port city, Hamburg has traditionally been a gateway to the world, but it needs agile and committed companies, such as GFA, that can successfully act as door-openers even under changing and challenging conditions,” said Dressel during his one-hour visit.
With around 340 employees at its headquarters alone, GFA is a major local employer in Hamburg-Volksdorf, where the company was founded in 1982.
As a home base, Hamburg offers ideal conditions for an internationally operating company such as GFA: as the host of the Hamburg Sustainability Conference, the Hanseatic city is gaining greater prominence in the field of International Cooperation. Furthermore, thanks to diverse business networks - for example, on topics such as AI or renewable energy - the city also offers opportunities for continuous exchange and collaboration.
